Media Centre mouse pointer issues

When I'm in Media Centre I have no mouse pointer visible.

Icons become highlighted as the invisible cursor passes over them and, if I'm lucky enough to spot this, I can activate them in the normal way.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Jack

Do you have a black cursor selected? That will disappear against the black background. If you want to find it, press Control to spot the cursor. Make sure you select that option in Mouse Properties. You could also select a different cursor color in Mouse Properties or change the background color in MC, Tasks, Settings, General, Visual & Sound.

Thanks for the reply.

I've tried your suggestions but, unfortunately, it hasn't worked.

My cursor is the standard windows default set. White with a black edge.

Media Centre's colour scheme is in blue and the Ctrl find function doesn't work either (it is turned on).

Dell Media Direct works fine. Same cursor as vista and the Ctrl find works as well.

Found the answer!!

You have to have the 'Dispaly Pointer Trails' off.

The answer was in the Windows Vista Community Forum, hosted by Microsoft.

I'll be marking this day in my diary - the first time I have a straight answer from Microsoft!!
