Uninstall the HP printer drivers and associated utility software, disconnect the unit's USB cable from the PC. Restart the PC and do a complete new install, install the HP software first and ONLY connect the unit to the PC when the install program tells you. If you connect the printer first either incorrect drivers will be installed or the install will fail.
Moving using mover programs not always results in everything working correctly, especially with a 64 bit operating system as many times 64 bit specific drivers are needed and in some cases older hardware (and software) may not even be 64 bit compatible. In the case of a printer you should ONLY use the correct install procedure, as I noted above.
I have followed your advise. In the process I found the problem was with an old printer driver from my old system. Since I don;t have the printer anymore, I didn't install the driver although the old files migrated. When I uninstalled the old driver and related software, I solved the problem. Thank you for your help.
This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusal way...
