Missing DLL's when installing Windows XP

I am having major problems. At first I had the problem that when trying to install XP I got "the blue screen of death" before I got to the install options. I "fixed" that by creating a slipstream cd of Windows XP. Now I get further than I did before, but while it's installing XP I get messages saying it's missing certain DLL. I can switch between the regular XP cd and the slipstreamed one and some of the DLL are on one but not the other, but then there are still some that are not on either and it causes Windows to not load up. The ones missing that I remember off the top of my head are wininet.dll and most of the spraxxxx.dll's. Any solutions? I haven't has Windows on my laptop for about a month now and I'm getting desperate. Does the slipstream CD have SP 1& 2 on it? I think Wininet.dll started life in SP2 and later versions relate to IE7. I can't find Spra*.dll in my Windows at all.

If you go to http://www.dll-files.com/dllindex/dll-files.shtml?wininet you can download that and other .dlls

If you can't find what you want there, do a Google search

I think you should run the Dell Diagnostics.  It could be a hardware problem, maybe even bad RAM

SP2 was slpistreamed into it.  If I download all the dll's I need off the internet will I be able to use the cd that they're on during the installtion process?

It's a long time since I did it, but doesn't Windows ask for the path to any missing files and then lets you browse to them? I remember that when I loaded Office on to my computer it would not read one cab file, for whatever reason. So I downloaded the cab and made a copy of the Office CD with the cab flie added - that worked.

If so, putting the dlls almost anywhere would work. Nice if you have 2 DVD/CD drives.
