Do you have a "Smartbridge" Wireless LAN connection?  If so that is what the update is for.

Thanks for the reply.  I do not have a wireless LAN connection, but I do have a wireless mouse and keyboard for my desktop.  Could this be the culprit?

No, the wireless mouse/keyboard is different than wireless "networking".

I did a search for smartbridge on google and it also shows up as a Bridge (card game) program.

Wow, that's strange, considering I don't even know how to play Bridge.    Any idea how I can disable it?  If I can't find it in the Add / Remove Programs, any suggestions on what I should do to get rid of it?

Do you have a DSL connection? That shows up for me with Verizon on line DSL.

It's a trouble-shooting startup. Not required. Disable the auto-update feature using msconfig (command) at Start/Run. Are you using Sympatico ?

Rjmat,  yes, I do have Verizon DSL.  Should I choose "yes" to the update prompt?  If so, what in the world am I updating?

Maxd, I don't understand your reply.  How do I disable it?  More importantly, do I need to udpate it?  What the heck is Motive Smartbridge?  I don't know what Sympatico is, so I don't think I am using it.

Look at this.

http://www.sysinfo.org/startuplist.php?filter=motive+smartbridge

To disable (aka keep it from running) Motive SB go to Start, then Run and type in this: msconfig

Click on the Startup tab and uncheck the box next to the program(s). Choose restart.
