Multimedia Controller
I just formatted my Dimension E510 and I used the reinstallation dvd win xp media center 2005, I was able to load all the drivers except the multimedia controller driver which I don't have, any suggestions where to find it? Also the lack of this controller in the computer, will afect the TV tuner? I get a decoder error and also a video decoder error plus the following: The tuner hardware is either malfunctioning or not installed (it is and it was working fine prior to the format); please ensure both the tuner hardware and a driver are installed. Any suggestions? Thank

Did you install the Intel Chipset Drivers? They are often overlooked when users do a reinstall. If you don't install the chipset drivers you will not be able to install the sound drivers and the multimedia controller is part of the sound drivers.
The correct install sequence is (1) Install Windows (2) Install chipset drivers (3) Install device drivers, such as the sound.
If the chipset drivers were not installed, install them now, restart the PC and then install the sound drivers. In most cases you can do this and it will work, however if it doesn't you will have to do the install over and do it in the correct sequence.
The E510 chipset drivers are HERE
