NTVDM CPU has encountered an illegal instruction....
While attempting to install Nero 6 I keep receiving the same error message:
16-bit MS-DOS Subsystem:
The NTVDM CPU has encountered an illegal instruction.
(a line like this is usually included)... CS: 9fe3 IP: 0217 OP: fe ba cb fe 7c
What the heck does that mean and why can't I install my software? I've searched around the internet for a solution to this problem and found none, although I have found that many, many people out there are encountering the same installation error message while attempting to install a whole variety of software.
For reference, my system is a Dimension 8400, 3.2 GHz P4, 1GB DDR2 RAM, 250 GB hard drive, and XP media edition SP2. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
