Need help with Roxio Easy CD Creator 5.2 Basic

A few months ago i had to reinstall my operating system. When it was time to put in the optional software i never put in roxio easy cd creator 5.2 basic. Now yesterday day i decided to install it but got the message that it was incompatible with my version of windows. At the time i did not install it i had windows xp home edition sp1 and now i have windows xp home edition sp2. i guess its the difference in service packs. However, i wanted to know if i could go along with the install anyway and later update it to version 5.3.5.

That version is not compatible with SP2.  However, you can go ahead and install it, but DO NOT run the program.  After it's installed, restart Windows then download the update that is on the Roxio site and install that. Restart Windows again and you should be OK.  I've done this on several PC's and it all worked OK.

However, you should consider a new version of CD/DVD software, that version is way obsolete and does have some "issues". (The current Roxio version is V9).

Yes, that version has been used by several others that I know of that have posted on here.  I have also used it on several of my customer's PC's, that have the older Roxio, without problems.
