New Error Search Function at Microsoft.com

Question

Here is a Microsoft news release concerning our ability to search for errors we receive.  Up to this point finding exact info on a particular numbered error messages has been an exercise in futility.  This may help, have not tried it yet.  Kip 'We've added Event ID search capabilities at Search Microsoft.com. Here's how it works: Enter '1001' (for example) or 'error 1001' and note that a relevant result appears as one of the top results overall and within the Support & Troubleshooting category. Each page referenced has an informative title, which includes the phrase 'Events & Errors Help,' followed by the product it applies to, the error source, and error number.When you click on an 'Events & Errors' item in these Search results, it provides the error info we have on file, and it provides links to relevant Knowledge Base articles. Give it a try. We think it's pretty cool'.
