NotifyAlert.exe-Common LanduageRuntime DebuggingServices Error Please Help

I read the NotifyAlert.exeNet message that was already posted, but I wasn't sure if the error I keep receiving was the same thing, so I thought I should still post. Sorry if I'm asking the same question. I went to the download page and had my system scanned for any updates needed, but I didn't see any. My error is:

NotifyAlert.exe- Common language Runtime Debugging Services

Application has generated an exception that could not be handled.Process id=0x514(1300),Thread id=0xe9c(3740). Click OK to Terminate the application. Click CANCEL to debug the application.

And if I click cancel, I get the error message:

NotifyAlert.exe-No Debugger found.Registered JIT debugger is not available. An attempt to launch a JIT debugger with the following command resulted inan error code of 0x2(2). Please check computer settings.

cordbg.exe !a 0x514

Clickon retry to have the process to wait while attaching a debugger manually. Click on Cancel to abort the JIT debug Request.

I get the message at different times, and it's not something I know anything about, or how to debug

there is one post regarding this issue posted at the top of this forum:

http://forums.us.dell.com/supportforums/board/message?board.id=sw_winxp&message.id=108980

alternatively, you can uninstall the "dell support utility" from add/remove, which is what most people do.. to do that, i would open the task manager, look in "processes", and it you see the dell support utility running in "processes", kill the process, then uninstall the "dell support utility" (whatever it is called) from start/control panel/ add/remove..

hope that works..

i read something recently about programs being created with net framework that would run fine on the computer that they were created on, but would generate errors when installed on another computer..

what errors are you seeing? you can use google to search for information about the error that you are experiencing..

Thanks for the posting the rememdy to this situation. I had the same error message come up a total of three times, and also one featuring the following:  ""Runtime Debugger(Cordbg.exe) (.NET Framework)" Not sure why these should be showing up now after 2 years of pop-up, virus, spyware free operation!!

I also have this problem. I am pretty sure I have the .NET framework installed. I thought I did and it is not in any of my lists microsoft of updates when I go to the update page. I have the problem everytime we log onto the different user names on the computer. The process and thread id's are not always the same, but I will post two that I have gotten when I've logged on today.

The first is:  Process id=0x808(2056) and Thread id=0xdc8(3528

and the second is: Process id=0x618(1560) and Thread id=0x61c(1564)

if anyone can help me with this, that would be great, if not, it's not a big problem just an annoyance :)

Thanks so much!
