OE spell check language problem

I purchased a new computer while in the Virgin Islands and I had to order thru Dell's "offshore division"  I have Windows XP media edition and it came with OE6 and IE7 but no Works or Word.  The spell checker in OE only has French as the language option.  I have since installed Office 2007 (and I hate the new fancy layout and can't find any of my old buttons).  It spell checks in English but I still only have French as an option in OE.   How can I have OE link to the Word dictionary for spell check.  Thanks in advance for you help,  this has been very frustrating.

Open OE and go to Tools/Options/Spelling Tab and select your language there.

The only thing I can think of is to check Regional and Language Options in Control Panel.

You can also try a repair install of Office.

The only language option in OE now is French.  That is the problem,  I don't know how to get it to link to the English version in my Word2007 program.  My Word language is set for English.

Hi Vern,

I am having the same problem with Outlook Express on the new Optiplex I received this week from Dell. (I ordered this within the US.) I haven't found a solution yet. I think this problem resides with the Dell installation of the software.
