Office 2002 Service Pack 3--missing an .msi file
I have Office 2002 and would love to download the latest service pack. When trying to install, about 1/3 into the download the program stops and requests the CD, looking for an .msi file. I inserted the Dell Office CD (Office was preinstalled on my Dell system), but I couldn't find the file. Can anyone offer a suggestion?

If you have Office XP SBE make sure you are inserting the Office XP CD and not the Media Content CD. The labeling on the two makes it difficult to differentiate between them.

Denny,
Many thanks for the suggestion. The only CDs I have are the ones that came with the Dell, which are not standard Microsoft-appearing products (they are intended to reinstall in case of a hard drive crash, I think).

minapoli,
No, that's not the one. It's some sort of MSOFFICE.MSI. I'm sorry I'm not more specific, but to find out, I have to spend about 4 hours downloading the first third of the upload, then have it tell me it can't proceed without the file, then force a cancel.
But I do sympathize!

I am having the same problem. I am trying to install sp-3 for MS office, and the install program tells me to insert the Office XP disk and find the pro.msi file. There is no such file on the Office XP disk from dell (yes, I am using the correct disk).
Where do I find the pro.msi file so I can continue?
