One user but Switch User at Welcome Screen upon waking from sleep mode

I am using Vista Home Premium, I only have one use active. When I start up the computer, at the Welcome Screen there no option to "Switch" or select a user. When I resume from "Sleep" there is an option to switch user.  If I select switch user, it shows the same user as when the system started. Is this normal behavior?

When I resume from "Sleep" there is an option to switch user.

If you wish to add more users, go into the Control panel, go to the users section and there should be options there to add more users...

Otherwise.....i'm really not quite sure what you're asking...

Was this issue ever resolved? I get the same 'Switch user' when booting from standby even though I am the only (administrator) user on the system

Hi supersara2001.

Do you have VISTA?  If so, are referring to the fact then when you awaken your system you are at a screen that shows your computer name, a little icon, it says Locked and you have to click it to go to the desktop, it's very easy to stop.

Go to Start, control panel, then click power options.   When the power options opens click the left where it says REQUIRE A PASSWORD ON WAKEUP....click CHANGE OPTIONS THAT ARE CURRENTLY UNAVAILABLE...then click CONTINUE then just click DO NOT REQUIRE PASSOWRD...click ok and when the computer wakes up it will go right to your desktop rather than the User screen.

You are brilliant, thank you :D I do indeed have Vista but didnt know you could fiddle with it that way to remove it. It started doing it recently out of the blue which is why I asked - thank you!
