Do a search for
Deleted Items.dbx. If there is more than one user on your system, when the file located under your account in Documents and Settings is found right-click it and select Delete. When you open Outlook Express again it will generate a new Deleted Items folder and should restore your delete capability.
I would personally advise you to rename rather than delete the deleted items box, just incase. To do so, just change the three letter extension to something else (like .bak or .old) That way, if Outlook Express does not autogenerate a new folder, you'll have a backup. I've witnessed OE doing some very funky things in the past...
I had already tried Denny's suggestion when I received your response, and I had no problems. But I will make a note of what you said, in case I have to repeat this procedure in the future. Thanks for your help.
