Outlook Express issues
After a Microsoft update download that didn't work out (said it was unable to finish it's task) I now no longer can send or receive mail on my Outlook Express. It opens but never connects. My broadband connection is fine and my second computer receives and sends mail normally but not on my Dimension E521 and I'll appreciate any thoughts you have, thanks.

That was Service pack 3 , sound right, it would have been a lengthy installation.
You might try a system restore, pick a date before the failed install.
