Just solved my speel check problem. I Went to the file aspeil28.zip that I had downloaded & clicked on the spell check. Microsoft said you have a bug in outlook express keeping you from using spell check. do yo want to fix it? I the followed all prompts & I now have pell check.
I have downloaded the fix you recommended and installed it into the Outlook Express folder in my programs folder. Nothing happened. any recommendations as to where to load it to make it work?
If you have MS Office, MS word will act as the editor and provide the spell checker.
If you did not purchase MS Office try the following, as OE does not have its own spell checker.

Thank you Thank you for the filelibrary info. i was going nuts not getting anywhere figureing out why my spell check would not work on my brand new dell w/xp. it took a few times threw out the day to log on to the web sight but it was well worth the wait.
I cannot thank you enough for that information!! I installed Office 97--twice, but my spell checker would still not work. It took me a couple of hours of browsing the forum, but I finally found your reply. I was getting a bit frustrated after downloading the program because spell check wasn't functioning---until AFTER restarting the computer (normally the installation lets you know it's needed).
Anyway, you've been a tremendous help to me and many others, I see
janjan: Thanks so much for your post about how to add a dictionary to Outlook Express 6. I was very disappointed to find that there was no dictionary in my Dell 2400 Home Edition purchase in Nov. 2003. I installed it from the site you listed, followed directions to eliminate the bug from OE, then restarted the computer! It was working fine when I checked!
