Outlook inbox has been lost!

I was opening my outlook inbox and when I clicked on a subsidiary inbox folder I saw a message that said 'cannot move inbox folder' I then closed this box and my inbox folder disappeared.  I t happened as I must of accidentally moved the folder when clicking on it.  The folder has not been moved to any other folder within outlook

I don't use Outlook but I'd see if System Restore would fix it.

Thanks for your advice - can you please direct me to Systems Restore?

It may be still there but hiding from View. Did you search your computer for Inbox ? To use System Restore go to Start/Run and type: msconfig and hit Enter. Then "Launch System Restore". Go back (Restore My Computer to an Earlier Time") to a day or 2 before you lost the Inbox. Once system reboots see if Inbox is there ? Remember to update your AV software after you use System Restore as well as checking for Windows updates. If this doesn't help post back. Hopefully an Outlook user will jump in.

Did you try all the options under "View" in Outlook Express, (eg "Go to Folder" and select InBox)?

If some Outlook files were corrupted you could go to Start/Run and enter: sfc /scannow

I believe you can actually uninstall/reinstall OE but you may lose all your messages, addresses, settings, etc.

If you do the second or third option I suggest you visit the WindowsUpdate site. I forget if you mentioned if you had done an updated virus and spyware scan.
