PCI input controller

I recently formatted my dimension xps t600r and when i got it working again my sound didnt. I installed the correct drivers for my soundcard but in the devices list i get  ? beside PCI input controller and also beside PCI ethernet controller. I was wondering if anyone could tell me were to get the drivers for them, i was told it was something to do with the modem but i have no drivers for it. I am curently runing windows 98.
