Palm PDA's not supported by Media Center Edition?

According to Palm's website here, no Palm handheld is supported by the MCE operating system: only
XP Home & XP Pro. Yet I read elsewhere where users had no trouble synching their Palm using the
Desktop software with MCE.

Has anyone here had any success backing up their Palm using MCE?

We have two handhelds in our household.  One of them is Palm-brand the other is Sony Clie.  I don't think I had any problems with installing and HotSyncing them.  I did set up a separate login for each, so it could start downloading updates for each Palm only when we are prepairing to Hot Sync each one.   I think we just installed the software that came with each and it worked the same as it did on our older XP computer.

Thanks for the feedback.

I suspect that "not supported" does not mean " will not work", at least for the basic functions.
I have an old Palm PDA, and I note the new ones all have a lot of software I will never need nor use.

If you go to Palm's own forums, you will see this is a REAL problem.

For me, it's a REAL problem.

Many people report that they cannot sync their Palm devices after installation.

I was able to sync mine once. From that point, it crashes the computer to a blue-screen state each time. Others just get error messages.

I'm glad I don't own Palm stock. I don't care what anyone thinks about MS, but if you're selling PDAs and you can't keep up with Windows' latest versions, you're doomed.
