The symptoms suggest that the images are either not available at the web-site or that you have some software/hardware that's firewalling them or that your HTML client can't download them.  First thing I'd do is empty my browser cache and retry.

Has anything changed or been installed recently on your computer?

PS no need for the huge font.

Thanks J.....sorry about the font. Now, my browser cache? Do you mean empty my recycle bin, if not please explain?( If you recall, I said I was computer illiterate.) And no, nothing new on the puter. I can't imagine emptying my bin would solve this problem, but I'll try anything.

Assuming that you're using Internet Explorer go to Tools | Internet Options and click the Delete Files button.  This is probably not the problem but it doesn't hurt to rule it out.

Is there anything common to the emails and web-sites that fail to show these images?  I'm assuming that other emails and web-sites work just fine.

razethis,

If you post the URL of the site that is no longer displaying images someone here would at least be able to confirm that it is a problem with the site or if not that it is definitely a problem with your browser.

No, there is nothing common between the sites and e-mails and all other ones are fine. It's just every now and then I will get one that I can't see the pics on.....and the web site is one which I have had saved for over a year on my hard drive and now all of a sudden the pics won't display on it. And I went ahead and deleted the Internet files.

Well, I'm guessing that the problem you have with images no longer appearing in old emails is that a) the old emails are HTML and b) the images they refer to are no longer available.  When someone sends you an HTML email, it can contain references to images on a web server somewhere -- the images are not in the email itself.  So over time, as the web site changes, the references become outdated.

Denny - Sorry it took so long for a reply. Here is the web site address I was referring to: Mikeyy21uk@aol.com. I don't know if that helps. But I still can't see the pics. Thanks.

That's not a website. That's an email address.

razethis,

The URL for the topmost picture on the page is http://www.artofpencil.20m.com/sitebuilder/images/Grief5a-150x198.jpg. If the Web server is a Unix system, the file name on the web server's disk must match the file name in the URL exactly, or the image won't be found.
