  try this one out...

  

 

    start---> run---> type " cmd" click ok ---> type "sfc /scannow" in the command window

 

 note: you need to have windows xp cd in the cd drive when u type this command.. if this is not working... then try doing a repair resinatll.. how ever u'll not lose any data in all the above processess.. so go ahead...

 

  boot the system with the os cd... in the "welcome to setup" blue screen, hit enter, then accept the liscence by pressing f8 key.. in the 3rd screen, u need to press R.. it will prompt that its gonna repair the operating system.. go ahead with the commands in the screen... but after this process, u may have to reinstall ms word and ceratin other applications.. u need to install the video drivers alone... but remember u'll not lose any data in your computer...
