Printer problems under Vista

I recently installed Windows Vista Home Premium on my computer. I am having problems with my printer All in one reconizing my printer during scan to file, or scan to my photo editing software. The printer works fine. I  uninstalled software & cleaned up registry, reinstalled & reinstalled the driver & firmware that was on Dells driver updates.

My printer is a Dell Photo964 all in one printer.

Is there a seperate software for the all in one? all I found was the Driver & firmware updates which donot have the all in one software in them.

This is my system.

I down loaded & install:

R114639aioprinterfirmware

R14617aioprinter    driver

I did not see anything for the Dell all in one center software.

Sorry, don't know what happened to that link. Did you uninstall the old printer driver prior to the upgrade?

I'd say you're probably right. I really hate printer issues. Post back if you ever get it figured out. I'm sure there is someone else who would benefit from it.

Yea I did. I also uninstalled & did a reg clean then reinstalled the new drivers, & firmware update then the all in on software. I think it might have something to do with the all in one software.

if you are running mcafee as firewall go to services.msc and disable the service for mcafee redirector, then make sure also under security center that all related exe for printer is set allow full access,

try to lower down the security of norton, this will only lower program access but still have full internet protection

I finally got my printer to work. I installed the new driveer but when it ask me to replace the old one I opt to make another copy, then it started to work on the all in one software for scanner & fax. I then removed the original & it still works. Strange!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
