Problem with IE 7

Please help. I am in a deep trouble. My internet explorer gives me problem. It is opening but it takes 15 to 30 minutes to open a website. Sometimes it does not open at all. I checked up this forum and I could find out some remedies. - Disabling add-ons--- This didn't help me. The problem remained the same. even now I didn't enable any add-ons with IE. - Resetting IE--- Even after resetting the time taken to open a site is almost the same. Dimension 9200, IE7 320 GB HDD(220 for vista and 100 for XP) Vista premium (upgrade from XP MCE) 2 GB RAM ATI RADON 1300 256 MB NVidia GE FORCE Card

Some common issues has being seen here are:
McAffe:
On the MSCONFIG under Services TAB disabling McAfee Redirector Service

Google Desktop:
Uninstall it is the best, it is useless, and Vista has the same functionallity.

It was an upgrade... Have you read also, a clean install is the BEST???

I would put the $10 in my pocket on it being Google Desktop. Good call Gio. Great software, except when it bugs out and won't let you view any pages.

Seems that it is sending packets like crazy somewhere and robbing all the bandwidth.

Thanks to all for the valuable suggestions. (When I have tried to install the latest vista security update for IE manually, the system says it is not for this system. It may be because the fix might have already installed) I am still in deep trouble with IE 7. As advised I have disabled all add-ons and reset IE7. but that didn't workout. Even after I set the home page as www.yahoo.com, when I start the explorer, the page ID shown is "http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=76277" and not getting opened. Now I am using firefox. It is working very fine and faster than IE. But I liked the way IE functioned (may be because I am used to it). I have tried to un-install IE7 for a re-installation. But since it has come with vista, it is not shown in add/remove programs in control panel. Is there any other way to repair it or to un-install it. Any help will be highly appreciated.
