Hi msil217,

Here are some ideas, when the page loads, scroll halfway down to DVOM reply. And the replies under DVOM.

Thanks for the reply, but the link was no help to me.

I can make a bootable CD, but then it asks for the next disk, and to press a key to continue. It is looking for Ghost.exe on either Drive A: or Drive B: (I have neither)so that doesn't work.

If I put in disc on of the Image file, it can't find it.

If I try to boot off of a CD that just has Ghost.exe, it goes to Windows.

With the 5 backup CD's, it will boot off of the first one, but there is no mouse pointer. It shows the Blue background, and the Ghost menu.

But no mouse pointer.

With the floppies, on my desktop, I can boot from floppies, because it has an internal floppy Drive.

So, those 5 CD's I burned may be useless.

Laptops should have a built in floppy drive, Or Norton needs to fix their product.

Floppy drives are so outdated.  You need to get yourself a small, cheap USB memory stick/drive.  You can then make that bootable, and then install ghost on that.  Does your Dell 1100 support booting from USB drives (I'm assuming so).

I'm not sure I understand your problem, but all it seems is that you get Ghost to work but there's no mouse pointer?  Maybe because on bootup, it doesn't have the proper drivers?  You are able to navigate the Ghost menus using the keyboard right?

If you aren't sure your backup is reliable, you should definitely redo it - use rewritable CD's.  Better yet, get yourself an external DVD writer - that backup to 5 CDs would fit on one DVD.

I have a thumb 128mb. (drive). I'm not sure what driver or where to get it.

Thanks, I'll look into it.
