Problem with OEMBIOS files digital signatures.
Recently I started to get messages from "Windows File Protection":
- Files that are required for Windows to run properly have been replaced by unrecognized versions. To maintain system stability, Windows must restore the original version of these files. Insert your Windows XP HE CD-Rom now.
These files are Dell OEMBIOS (bin;dat;sig;cat) and have something to do with activation and verification I guess.
SFC (System File Checker) scan is unable to restore these files. I figured out that the problem is with files digital signatures which makes them bad files for Windows. WFP worns me that my system stability is at risk (few times a day. My Dell is three years old and I never had this issue before. It started since one week on the next day I passed through MS mandatory for now OS validation procedure on line when I downloaded some small file.I suspect it's related.
I've posted this topic on another forum with no resolution for the moment.

I tried to register my self on "Chat with Desktop Support" and get reply that according to provided info my system is a business (which is not) and I am not eligible to pass registration.
Will highly appreciate help.
And If someone have an experience with the similar problem - please share.
Thank you.

Thank you for sharing. I appreciate you taking time and trouble to post here. It helps. Now I see what the problem is. These files date back to the same day when my OS was installed. I am pretty shure now that they are OK and valid. It just something triggered the WFP to come up. Only a bit annoing to see this pop-up a few times a day. I don't beleive I can get a new BIOS files from Dell (...hm, otherwise they should send it to every customer...),so I will consider disablig WFP, at least for a while. I just would like to know that the stability of my system is not at risk and I wont loose one day my Log-on/Administrator rights.
Thank you again for your post.
