The problem might be the confusing name of Windows 10 email service called Outlook which has no relation to Office's Outlook. If you have Office, don't use Windows 10 mail or Outlook.com email which is just Hotmail renamed. Open the Desktop and find MS Office in the installed app list. Use that and open your Office Outlook program and use that instead. Win 10 does not like old versions of Office's Outlook, but they do work.

Did you look in the Deleted folder? Maybe inadvertently deleted from in box.
Check this thread from another forum. If you are lucky you have the same problem and it was resolved.

In your case to repair huge PST file I would use search engine like google or yahoo
