Product Key Codes for Preinstalled Software on new PC
I have a new XPS Studio that came with Microsoft Office Home and Student 2007. I am assuming this is the full version and not the trial version.
When you open up Word or Power Point or Excell or any other product associated with this package, it asks for my 25 character product key.
This software came preinstalled and Dell DID NOT SEND ANY INSTALLATION DISKS (other than the Windows 7 Ultimate install DVD) with the computer.
I looked at the back of the computer and there is indeed a sticker with the Microsoft logo on it that shows a 25 character string of capital letters and numbers that certainly LOOKS like a valid key code, but when I try to use it it says that it is invalid.
My software has now entered limited functionality mode (as you know it does this after opening it 25 times without entering a product key).
How do I go about getting this code?
Thanks so much for any help you can supply!

Unless you specifically ordered Microsoft Office, In which case you would have a full working version with the reinstall disk, the version installed on your computer is a Trial version. If you were to go ahead and purchase it from Microsoft you would then be given a key.

Thanks.
Two questions then.
What is the key code on the back of my computer for then?
How do I purchase the full version if I have the trial version?

the key on the back of your pc i would think is the key for window.
i would go to best buy or a store around you and buy it if u find that you have a trial copy,so then your sure that you get the real thing :)
