The very best driver cleaner is mentioned in this thread, the free version may not remove newer drivers completely, it is pretty old software, the new version is not free but is simply the best available and reasonably priced at $10.

Usually if you are just "updating" the driver, and not replacing the video card, using add-remove programs to remove the old driver software is sufficient before installing the new driver. No need for a driver cleaner.

Thankyou for answering my post, Mombodog

Yes I seen that post before, that you linked to. That is where I got the link for the Free version of the software. I got it from  a search on " video card install". So with the older video card I installed, the evga geForce 6200 PCI video card, you are saying I do not need to run the Driver Sweeper when updating the Driver?

Also does the $10.00 version tell you when it has completed its task?

Thanks again for answering

"Yes I seen that post before, that you linked to"

Read it very carefully, it will answer all your questions.

Thanks again for the quick reply, Mombodog.

I reread the post from SR45, again. I also copied it to notepad and printed it out, back when I installed the video card along with another post from a moderator. You are right, it does answer the first question.

But I can't find the answer to "Does Driver Sweeper tell you when its finished?"

Everything is working on my computer. I was just curious, because after I selected the broom on the driver sweeper program, it did not really do anything. Maybe there was nothing for it to do, after I had deleted the driver in the Add and Remove Programs list.

 Thanks

I cannot answer that since I have never used that program driver sweeper, the only one I use is mentioned in the link.
