QuickBooks Want Load

Question

I have just installed QuickBooks Pro Edition 2004 on a new Inspiron E1705.  It is running Windows XP Media Center.    I have used this same QuickBooks Pro Edition on several other CPUs running Windows XP Home and Pro without any problems.    The program loads and you can see it on the screen for a second then it goes away.  It want even run the safe mode.   Any helpful advice?

I have the exact same problem as you on my XP Media Center... Although Quickbooks Pro is somewhat installed.. there is also an installation problem at the end of installation. The "Setup" wizard will not finish when I hit the "Restart" button to reboot the machine to complete the installation. The "Setup" wizard window just hangs there and I have to terminate the process manually. Maybe this problem is causing the execution problem.

Is there anybody out there with a solution?

I know somebody with the same problem...........except its with XP Home   Im on the phone with them and this was the only board I could find about this..........argh

Did you ever find a solution to your problem? I have Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005 for Dimension and am having installation problems similar to message posted by Summit Software. QuickBooks Basic 2004 appears to be installed, but when I click on the icon, it flashes on the monitor for a second, then disappears.  Chip M
