Quicken Opening, Recording, Deleating and Closing Sounds

I have a Dell 8400 desktop computer running Windows XP Media Center Edition, SP3. Can someone help me incorporate sounds When Im working in Quicken. I have Windows Start Up and Exit Windows sounds playing OK, but for the life of me, I can't get the Quicken sounds to play. In going to control panel and sounds & audio devices and clicking the "Sounds" tab what EXACTLY is the process and sequence to turn on these sounds, in this case, "Quicken Program Open", "Quicken Record", Quicken Delete". As mentioned, I do have Windows Start Up" and Exit Windows" working ???

Thanks for Your help & Support

Jimbo1941,

Thank you for using the Dell Community Forum.

You should be able to go into the Quicken Preferences to turn on the Quicken Sounds. The control panel sounds are for Windows.

Jesse L,

Well that solved my problem. In Quicken Preferences "Quicken Sounds" was checked. Thanks for Your Help & Support

For some reason my quicken sounds are silent again. I checked into Quicken Preferencs and the quicken sounds is still checked off????. Is there something I neec to do in control panel?  Any Suggestings ??

Hello Jimbo1941

Jesse L is correct it should be in Quicken.

I would change the state of sounds in quicken and do a reboot

and see what happens.

Hi Tom,

What exactly do you mean when you recommend " change the state of sounds in Quicken " In Quicken preferance's there's a check-off or -on that says " turn on quicken sounds ".  I did uncheck the "turn on quicken sounds " and rebooted and got no sounds as expected. then I went back in and checked "turn on quicken sounds" and rebooted and still got no sounds ?? Any recommendations ??

Thanks For Your Help

Hello Jimbo1941

That was the only suggestion I had, if turned on, then turn off, then back on.

Make sure other sounds are working.

Sorry if I'm not much help.

Tom
