Quickset Cannot Install: Error 2330 and Error 2753
I have a Latitude D630 running Vista Business 32. Every time I boot, the machine tries to install an update for Quickset and asks for the CD with Quickset (which I do not have). I have downloaded the latest update of Quickset for my machine, so I direct the computer to the folder that holds quickset.msi. It still cannot find the necessary files.
When I try to install Quickset from the setup file that was downloaded, I get and error such as this:
Error 2330.Error setting file attributes:C\Program Files\Dell\Quickset\help\Eng GetLastError: 1392
I have tried to uninstall Quickset before installing again, but I get the same error message.
Did I mention that I also get a BSOD every day or so with a 0x0000008E or 0x00000050 error code. Yes, I have memorized the error codes because they show up so often.

Try uninstalling QuickSet. Use the Windows Installer Cleanup utility from Microsoft if need be. Then try again.
Also run diagnostics to ensure the hardware is fine.

Thanks for your help. I ran the Windows Install Cleaner to remove Quickset. When I ran the installation again, I got the following error:
Error 1304. Error writing to file C:\Program Files\Dell\Quickset\Mobility Center.exe. Verify that you have access to that directory.
When I tried to open that directory, I got a message that the file was unreadable or corrupted. I changed the name of the folder and tried the Quickset installation again. This time the installation finished without any errors.
I am concerned that my HD is faulty, although I have run both Spin-rite 6.0 and memtest without any errors. But something is definitely wrong with this machine. I get the BSOD at least once a week with error 0x0000008E or 0x00000050. And these corrupted file issues pop up periodically as they have done with Quickset.
