REstoring Factory settings in WIndows ME with disk
Sorry if this a redundant post. This is my first post here. I have an HP Pavilion N5340 which I am going to donate. I have XP on it which runs slow and I want to restore it back to Factory settings which was Windows ME and I have the system recovery disk. How do I go about completely reversing back to the original settings?

I don't know the specifics for your HP as I it has been a decade since I last used one, but in general it will be the same steps as for any computer: backup the data you don't want to lose (if any), wipe the drive clean of all existing information, install Windows using the disks that came with the system.
I did a quick check on the HP website and found this page of information about your system. It should have the details you need to get Windows ME and the required drivers reinstalled and working.
