Unless the system is still in the thirty day grace period from the invoice date, Dell will not replace the CDs, if you cannot find the CDs, then you will have to buy a new retail copy of XP Professional and download the drivers etc, from Dell's website.
Thanks for the reply. I called Tech Support & found the same info. you sent me. After talking to Tech Support, I was transferred to Sales to find out the price. Here's the conversation:
"Hi, I purchased a Dell Dimension 8250..."
Sales: "What?"
"...a Dell Dimension 8 2 5 0"
Sales: "We don't have such a system"
"OK, why am I looking at one?"
Sales: "We DON'T sell an 8250. What's telling you that it's an 8250"
"Uh, the manuals, the System Info"
Sales: "Oh, that's obsolete"
"Right, I need to reinstall the OS"
Sales: "The what?"
"The Operating System, Windows XP Pro. If I lost them, do you send them out?"
Sales: "We don't send them out, we sell them. What was it that you wanted?"
"I need the Windows XP Pro."
Sales: "We don't send them."
"You told me that. How much are you charging for them?"
Sales: "Hold on, let me check"
Then she hung up on me. Wow! What an idiot!
Luckily, I turned the place upside down & finally found all the CDs that I'd stacked away so well that I don't remember!

Hopefully, that was the last time I called Dell.

LinhNguyen.
I'm happy you found the reinstall CDs, it can be a real "downer" having to buy new copies.
Good Luck.
Bev.
