Reinstall XP SP3 - do I need "Dell Notebook System Software"?
Hello,
Just reformatted and clean installed XP Home SP3 on my Inspiron 1525 and am wondering if I need to install the additional Dell "Dell Notebook System Software" download? It appears that most of the changes in there are for tablet edition or for SP2. I wouldn't want to overwrite a SP3 fix with an older patch from the download.

After you re-install the operating system or even repair it, you have to install the drivers, from drivers and downloads, in the following order.
Desktop System Software or Notebook System Software
Chipset or SMBus driver
Processor Driver (if applicable)
Video
Audio (sound)
Input Drivers (keyboard/mouse)
Modem
Network Card
