Reinstallation cd gives stop error 0x0000007b

I have been trying to accesss the Recovery Console from an installation cd on my Dell Dimension E520, running XP Media Center 2005. It loads a bunch of files, then says "starting Windows". Shortly after this the BSOD appears with the error codes 0x0000007b (0xF78D663C, 0xc0000034, 0x00000000, 0x00000000).

As I couldn't find the reinstallation cd that came with the system, I have been using one from another XP machine. I don't know if this makes a difference.

Can anyone help?

Not particularly knowledgable myself but have an idea.

Since you're not using the original Dell XP disk (though you can order a replacement from HERE if you want), it's possible it doesn't have the SATA drivers needed to recognize the hard drive controller.  See if this seems similar:

You can download the SATA driver below.  When you extract it the README explains how to create a floppy to load the driver.   If there is no floppy then there may be a couple other ways to deal with it (like slipstreaming a new CD) but I'd have to leave that to someone more knowledgeable.
