Reinstalled Win XP, Lots of Driver Issues (Inspiron 700m)
Let me start off by saying I do not have the original driver disc.
Now that I have successfully installed Win XP I am getting these device errors:
I tried to download drivers from the Dell support site but they didn't seem to do anything after being re-installed. Any ideas how I can associate a device error above with the proper driver?
FYI, I cannot access the Internet or my network, either.

It's ok - even better that you don't have the driver disk - it is outdated within about 3 months anyway.
BE SURE on all these downloads to select Download Via Browser ... DO NOT use the Download Manager. If you already have selected the Download Manager, delete your Dell.com cookies, then try again ... or use a different browser.
First things you need are to install the Notebook System Software, then reboot:
Then, install the Chipset driver, then reboot:
After that, it doesn't much matter the order, but they usually have to be installed before anything else will install successfully. There are also instances where installing devices out of order results in the only fix being to reinstall Windows and do the drivers in the correct order ... hopefully that is not the case for you.
Considering your system, I would then do the following:
Card Reader:
http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/download.aspx?c=us&cs=04&l=en&s=bsd&releaseid=R139212&SystemID=INS_PNT_PM_700M&servicetag=&os=WW1&osl=en&deviceid=7271&devlib=0&typecnt=0&vercnt=3&catid=-1&impid=-1&formatcnt=0&libid=27&typeid=-1&dateid=-1&formatid=-1&source=-1&fileid=186169
SpeedStep Fix:
Then:
Video:
Audio:
Network:
Touchpad:
Modem:
http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/download.aspx?c=us&cs=04&l=en&s=bsd&releaseid=R104084&SystemID=INS_PNT_PM_700M&servicetag=&os=WW1&osl=en&deviceid=2757&devlib=0&typecnt=0&vercnt=2&catid=-1&impid=-1&formatcnt=0&libid=20&typeid=-1&dateid=-1&formatid=-1&source=-1&fileid=134322
If you have any devices unknown left in Device Manager after installing these (including your wireless - there are just too many different options to include them all here), then right-click on the device, Properties, Details tab, Hardware Ids from the dropdown, and give us the DEV and VEN ID's.
Good luck.

Thank you so very much. I never would have found all of that on my own. People like you make the Internet a better place.

There are two remaining. Wireless also isn't working but I am guessing that is a result of one of these two below not working properly yet.
Mass Storage Controller
Network Controller

You're right ... the second one is an Intel wireless chip, but it is unclear which one it is. What you might do to figure out exactly which one you have is go to the link below, enter your Service Tag, and check the original configuration tab to see which wireless it shipped with (you can paste it here if you need help deciphering it):
http://support.dell.com/support/topics/global.aspx/support/my_systems_info/en/details?c=us&cs=19&l=e
As for the Mass Storage Device ... this is your Texas Instruments flash memory card reader, which was with my original post, which is here:
http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/download.aspx?c=us&cs=04&l=en&s=bsd&releaseid=R139212&SystemID=INS_PNT_PM_700M&servicetag=&os=WW1&osl=en&deviceid=7271&devlib=0&typecnt=0&vercnt=3&catid=-1&impid=-1&formatcnt=0&libid=27&typeid=-1&dateid=-1&formatid=-1&source=-1&fileid=186169
This driver package should automatically launch after extraction, but in the event that it does not, after you download and run it to extract the files, then go to C:\dell\drivers\R139212 and run setup.exe.

Oooops. I did miss that mass storage device download. That solves one issue. Thx again.
I'm not sure what information will be helpful for you so I'm going to provide whatever I can. If I missed the important stuff just let me know and I'll get it. If giving you the service tag is useful I can post it here for you.

Although it is often easier and helpful, it's against the forum's TOS to post the Service Tag. If you go to that site, put in your Service Tag, then copy/paste the contents of the original configuration tab, that should be good enough.

I only now just realized the contents of that tab didn't survive my last post. Apparently copying it and pasting it directly into the textarea here doesn't work. I apologize for not catching that the first time. Here is via a short trip through notepad:

It does. Very different from what I had before but functional which is all I'm after.
Believe it or not that was the last one (that I know of). Thank you for all of your help. It is more appreciated then words can say.
