Reinstalling Operating System from Dell factory dvd. ;(

Question

I am trying to use the Reinstalliation DVD Windows Home Premium 32BIT,on a Dell Inspiron 1720, Mo. # PP22X, the DVD player stops. I completed the full BIOS test and passed all but the Internal Mic.I really need some expert advice . The laptop is out of warranty. I would place a 'Help this is an emergency!!!' tag on this but there was no option to select!

If you are having issues installing Windows Vista from a DVD you should instead install it from a USB.

To do this follow my wiki here (you will need to use another PC with a working DVD drive for this) and here.
