Reinstalling Windows Vista Issues HDMI/Cursor

I apologize if this is covered somewhere - I searched and couldn't find any info. I had to reinstall my 2008 version of Windows Vista. Two issues that I had with the original version were that HDMI wasn't appearing as a playback option and that my cursor would jump all around the screen (this isn't a sensivity issue) basically, as you type - it decides to jump to another part of the parragraph. I used Dell Tech Support Chat to repair both issues but recently I moved to Europe and had to switch my service tag to Europe. I lost the original chat sessions that I saved and unfortunately Dell does not allow access for people outside the US to use the Dell Tech Chat - so I'm hoping there are some folks out there who have repaired both of these issues in the past and can help me out. I'm assuming I just need the links to the proper drivers but I don't want to go searching all over the web for something that may harm my system more than actually help it.
