Reloading a 2005 XP Desktop PC
I have an old Dell PC w/XP. I would like to keep it and use it for something if I could. I have reloaded the OS before.
That was when I had a virus. However, that was a long time ago. Is the documentation anywhere of what I would need.
I reloaded a lot of Win 95 machine and had it down to a science. Complete with full documentation. Where could I find
similar instructions for an 2005 XP Machine?
In other words, should I look on Dell's web site, or MSFT's web site, or perhaps some place else?
I have done it before, but that was a long time ago. A check list of what I would need would be nice.
My new PC, is great. Very fast and uses a lot less power. It no longer heats up the room it's in.

Hi Dog_Father,
You will need to follow the steps provided in the following link to manually reinstall Windows XP on your computer:

I hope the information provided helps. Please reply to this message with the system model (E.g. Dimension 9200) if you need the instructions for the particular model.

Great Wiki for reinstalling Windows on Dell systems that was written by one of the forum Rockstars can be found here, too.
