Restore System

Each time I try to go to restore system I get the message that restore is unable to protect my computer and that I should restart and try restore again.  I have done this several times but I continue getting the same message.  Thks

From your Desktop, right click My Computer, left click properties, left click the System Restore tab at the top. Take the check out of the box that says Turn off system restore. Reboot and then open System Restore from your list of programs, then do your thing.

Hi kroger,

Have you tryed to do system restore under safe mode. Then go back and use system restore. I have the same error message until I did it in safe mode and it works.

You need to give us some information as to what your computer consists of. What operating system do you have? If it's ME then it's located in a different location. If so My Computer, Properties, Performance, File System, Troubleshooting It's at the bottom of the page.

From Safe Mode in XP you can turn System Restore off but not on, which is what you want to do right? Because it needs to be turned on in order for System Restore to work.
