SP2 and Bluetooth

Hi All,Running XP Home on an Inspiron 2650
Installed SP2
Has knocked out all Bluetooth.
Appears to be "not compatible".
Has anyone a fix, (apart from uninstalling SP2)
It appears SP2 has its own bluetooth drivers which over-ride all others.
There are suggestions elsewhere that I've tried, but I still get an error message on bootup "Unable to load bluetooth stack server"
Any help appreciated..
Regards Geoff.

What brand of bluetooth adapter are you using?  You should install the driver ( download the current driver if needed) that came with the adapter.

Hi,
Thanks for replying.
I use a Widcomm adapter. I have tried installing the software, before, and after installing SP2. Including deleting the Widcomm before each attempt. It still uses the SP2 bluetooth bit.
I have also tried the same with an MSI adapter and the relevant software. I still get the same results.

Regards...Geoff.

I'm guessing that your problem is specific to your hardware.  As I type this message,  I'm using a Thinkpad which has a bluetooth mouse attached and it's running XP Pro SP2,  and not having problems.  It also hotsyncs a PalmOne TungstenT5,  and a Nokia 6230 both via bluetooth as well...
