SP3 and IE8 upgrade-Internet issues

After thoroughly cleaning my Dell Dimension 1100 system, the next thing I did was to upgrade to XP SP3 and install IE8. Since then Mozilla keeps locking up and I have to reboot to get it back. A message pops up saying that nsappshell is not responding and prompts to end the program (no choice but to).

I also found that I could not use computer restore.

I have checked the settings and could be missing something. Any and all suggestions are very welcome.

Thanks in advance,

colonelh,

Thank you for using the Dell Community Forum.

Did you install Xmarks as an Add-on in Firefox? If so, uninstall it to see if that will resolve your issue.

Jesse,

No I do not have Xmarks in my browser and  have not added any other add-ons that may interfere.

Hoping for more answers.

Thanks,
