Safe to have 2 Operating Systems on one computer?

A friend of mine told me she had Windows XP AND Windows 7 on her computer. I have not seen it.

I got a new DELL 660 last year with Windows 7 on it. I am trying to learn how to use it for everything, but I really miss my XP! And my all-in-one printer will not do everything with Windows 7.

Is it safe to install Windows XP on my new computer? How does that work? How do you know which system you are using at any given time?

Hi ok42day,

Yes, you can Dual boot Windows 7 and Windows XP with Inspiron 660.

Please follow the steps from this link to dual boot your pre-installed Windows 7 computer with XP: http://bit.ly/7UpM7p

**Note: Installing dual operating system in a computer will void software warranty of the computer. We do not recommend dual boot. Installing second operating system might render the recovery partition unusable. This will lead to the unavailability of the option to restore the computer to Factory Settings in the event of any issues.

Please reply for further help.

You need a second partition or a second storage device.

Its easy enough to do I had 4 OS on my PC at one time however it is in general not recommended. Also its time consuming rebooting to get to a different OS to do a different task.

There is also the fact that Windows XP is reaching End of Life this means that Windows XP will no longer get updated in less than a year making it extremely vulnerable and using it will make your system more prone to Malware and Virus problems.

What model is your all in one printer?
