Saving with Notepad
Hi all,
I have a notepad file in my download directory. This notepad file give a explanation of what files have been downloaded since some files have wierd names and abreviations that I can't always remember later. I open the files and write the newly downloaded information to it and then attempt to save it. It then opens an 'save as' box and if I click save with the file name in the window, it tells me that it already exists as a read only file and to pick another name. I have used this same operation on my other computer that has windows 98 and have never had this sort of thing happen. Why won't Win ME let me simply save the file????
Thanks all

And no Mind left...

I lost my document while in notepad attempting to save in "My Documents". I obviously hit the wrong button. Is all lost forever? Any way to recover a such document? I looked in my recycle bin and it was not there. I also did a "search" and could not track the document down that way either. Can you help?
