SetPoint.exe

I love my new Inspiron E1505, but when I go to shut down I get an End Program message for Setpoint.exe.
I have the factory installed Bluetooth 355 module and bluetooth mouse and keyboard.

Hope someone can help.

There is a reported SetPoint.exe virus/worm out there, assuming it’s not that, but is the genuine Logitech SetPoint.exe file that communicates with a server over the net & is used to update Logitech devices you have installed. Then it’s probably a Logitech service feature running in the background & on selecting shutdown is obviously still running, resulting in End Program message.

You can either just ignore it or click Start Button > Run, then type in the dialog box “msconfig” (without quotations), click OK, click on Services tab or Startup tab & if you can identify the Logitech service, clear the check box, then click Apply. On the restart prompt, click Restart button. After PC restarts a System Configuration Utility message appears, check box enable the “Don’t show this message………” this stops you receiving same message every time your PC launches Windows.

You can always check box enable the service again by running msconfig, as described above.

If you disable Setpoint as suggested, your mouse features probably won't work since that's Logitech's mouse configuration software. Instead, I suggest you try User Profile Hive Cleanup Service, free from Microsoft, here:

Thanks for the advice. I tried it but SetPoint still gives me the end program message.

It mostly happens when I shut down and have no bluetooth devices on at shutdown. I guess I'll have to wait for the Setpoint update for bluetooth.
