unfortunately i checked that already...there is no program running at startup out of the ordinary...There are relatively few and necessary programs....
i would also like to mention before you advise me to do so, that i have done multiple registry scans with the best programs available on the market, but it didnt fix the issue.
ok well when I bought the laptop, vista was already installed on it, meaning i just turned it on, entered my data (name of computer and basic stuff) and that was it. I didnt get a vista cd or something like that.
No the computer wasnt slow in the beginning, but if you know dell laptops, you know that I had all the programs suite installed on it, from mcafee trial to multiple other programs I deinstalled.
Ive had the computer for about 3 months now, and its just started acting like that.
Ive noticed it happened also when I deinstalled kapersky active virus shield (by removing some App data i wasnt supposed to) but i doubt this has anything to do with that.
My computer is the dell 1501, with 1 gb of RAM and vista premium installed. the graphics card is the standard issue for inspirons.
video(display) adapter : ati radeo xpress series.
hard drive is 45.8 GB
But Im pretty sure the problem lies around those drivers, although they might be influenced by some programs (?)

Well if you did not uninstall kaspersky virus shield properly, that could be your whole problem. Have a look at msconfig and see if something related to kaspersky is trying to load at startup. If so, uncheck it, reboot and see what happens.
Well that is unfortunate. The only other suggestion I can make is to try to
Repair Vista, but for that, you'll need the Vista DVD. You can contact Dell, explain that you did not receive the DVD with your computer, and they will send one to you.
If the repair doesn't work, you may be forced to reinstall the operating system.
Your hard disk should include a factory image of Vista. It's located in a portion of what appears as unallocated space. Call Dell support to have it re-imaged.

select the Run As Administrator option.
In the command window, type "sfc /scannow" (again without the quotes) and press Enter.
The will run the System File Checker utility and should replace any files that are corrupt.
