Solution to Dell DataSafe Online Web Site Log In Problem

Thanks to some valuable help from another forum member (dsopro), I have been finally able to resolve a longstanding problem with logging in to the Dell DataSafe Online web site.

Since registering Dell DataSafe Online, I had been unable to log in to the web site, despite being able to use the Dell DataSafe Online utility to back up and restore my files.  A call to tech support was unable to resolve my problem.

The problem was that there are separate seb sites for US and UK users.  I purchased my laptop in the UK, and followed the link in the DataSafe utility to try and log in to the web site.  However the link in the utility goes to https://www.delldatasafe.com/ and not the UK version of the web site.  I could not find any mention of alternative web sites in Dell's support literature, but luckily dsopro took pity and was able to help after investigating on my behalf.

The correct web site I should have been going to is https://www.delldatasafe.co.uk/

I don't know if other countries have their own web site versions or not.  I thought it best to post this solution separately, in case others are having the same problem (it didn't seem to fit in with any other existing thread).

It would have been better to post this in your original thread, however, I'll leave it considering how helpful it could be for others.  I'm glad to hear you got things sorted.

I wasn't able to mark my first message as the accepted solution, so I have marked this reply instead (please see above)

Thanks Larry.  I agree that it would have been better posted in an existing thread, but this problem was only ever mentioned as a secondary issue in my/other posts, so I thought it would be inappropriate to post it as an accepted solution in one of them (plus I thought it may be missed by someone looking through a list of thread titles).  In hindsight I should have originally posted this problem as a seperate thread - I now know for next time.
