Sonic question

I have sonic as it came with my computer when I bought it.  I do not "burn" CD's and only use my CD/DVD drive to transfer word documents between home and my work computer.  I also use this to store graphics and pictures but I do not want to "burn" them to the CD.  I want to be able to make changes to the graphics and pictures and use them again elsewhere.  Can I uninstall Sonic and just use my CD/DVD drive as I would an old floppy disc drive without having Sonic.

even though I have told sonic to use with DLA. some times it wants me to burn the CD.

Does anyone have any thoughts on this?

DLA is great for transferring files as you indicate.

For storing pictures? You are playing with disaster!

DLA, InCD, Drag to Disc, etc. are all packet writers. Packet writing is about the most unreliable form of burning ever devised.

You can use XP burning and add/overwrite files to a CD or the same thing through Record Now using Sessions.

With Sessions, the disc will fill up but they only cost 20 cents.
