Srclient.dll problem

I need to access System restore but I get the following message" The
applicaion or DLL C:\WINDOWS\system32\srclient.dll is not a valid Windows
image.  Please check this against your installation diskette."  What is this
and how to repair?

Ge1209,

The srclient.dll is installed by the sr.inf (System Restore) installation file when Windows is installed.  To check it against your installation CD, do the following:

Insert your Dell Reinstallation CD for Windows XP in your CD-ROM.
Click Start|Run.  Type sfc /scannow.  Press Enter.
This will check your Windows protected system files for integrity and version.
When the System File Checker finishes,  restart your computer.  See if System Restore works.
If it doesn't, do not despair.  There are other ways to restore your system to a known good state.
