Stop error message after hard drive replacement

I posted this inquiry under laptops / hard drives and haven't received any responses.  My apologies for the double post.  I had to replace the original hard drive in my Inspiron B130 / 1300.  I purchased a new 80Gb Seagate from Dell and upgraded to 1Mb of RAM at the same time.  I installed the new drive and memory, set the boot sequence to boot from the Windows XP reinstall CD and restarted the computer.  Several files and drivers were loaded then it began to start windows and I received the stop error message that follows:

STOP: 0x0000007E (0xc0000005, 0xF748E0BF, 0xF78DA208, 0xF78D9508)

PCI.sys - Address F748E0BF base at F7487000, Datestamp 3b7d855c.

I have searched the forums high and low and cannot seem to find an answer.  I am at a loss and would really appreciate some help.

As you now know, you should not make 2 hardware changes at the same time. The hard drive replacement should be first and when that's done and working, upgrade the memory. For now, remove the new or extra memory, replace with old memory and get the hard drive to work first. Look up your manual online for instructions on replacing parts.

Thanks for the input but i had already attempted that solution with no results.  I suspect my reinstall CD has a problem since before ordering the new drive I had attempted to reload the original hard drive and got the same error message.  I have requested new CD's from Dell, hopefully they will solve the problem.
