System Configuration for windows XP

I went in to my system configuration to find out what program is causeing my computer to run slow. When I went to the services tab I hit the button to disable all forgetting to check the hide microsoft items. Now a bunch of the programs are missing and alot of them say they are not running. I also cannot get e-mail or connect to the internet. I have tryed a system restore but the point of restore is the day I did this and after I did it. I have tryed to go back to last month to do a system restore but it will not change months. Lastly I tried booting up in safe mode to see if I could do anything and still nothing works, including the system restore. Can anyone help me to undo what I've done?

Thanks

If you cannot get the system working, you may have to either use the Symantec Restore Utility if you have it or reformat and reinstall windows

If you have the Symantec System Restore Utility you can use this to return your system to the day it was shipped.  You will loose everything installed, but at least you will get your system working again.

First you should include your systems model number, which is always required when asking for information

In case you have this partition, look at the links below.

It's a hard way to learn, but now you know one reason it is recommended one not use msconfig to disable services!

You will likely, however, be able to re-enable and start all those services using the instructions from oshwyn5 in the thread link below, which solved your problem for another who made the same mistake you did:
